I'm taking my son on a turkey hunt this spring. He's 6 and ready to go. Hopefully we'll both have enough patients to last. we'll be in a blind so he'll be able to move a little. Can't wait to see his reaction. Anybody have an experience like what i'm about to undertake?

Well we made it through our first turkey hunt together. He was full tilt excited to go for weeks and could barely sleep the night before. Waking up at 4:15 wasn't easy for him, but once awake he was ready. Once making it to our site and getting blind set up he climbed right in and went to sleep. Wasn't long we had gobblers all around. I let him sleep until we had one committed to our calling and flew off roost right to us. Woke him up to watch the bird for a while and he went back to sleep, but he had a great time and is ready to go again. Maybe he'll get more sleep next time. The hunt was a success all the way around, and we'll be eating turkey.
