How close to roost do you get during season? I've climbed into the same tree with them on several occasions during deer season, but is that possible during turkey season? never tried, and don't think its necessary- just curious.

In my opinion, 100 yards is close enough, I dont want to take the chance of spooking them off roost.

dont forget wind and what obstacles might be in the way - anything could affect my set-up.If it's very windy I want to be closer if I'm down wind from the turkeys because 1) the wind will cover the sound of my approach and 2) it will also make it harder for them to hear me call

100yds is good as long as you know which way they tend to travel once they come off roost.
