driving home from school (after lending my cousin my tire iron to change his tire) the person driving their big pretty lexus suv hits a deer and takes off, well i don't carry a knife when i'm going to school but i stopped to make sure atleast the things dead. its not just the back legs are broken and its trying to stand up. well #*@!. i don't haave anything to finish it of with and i don't want to spend 15 minutes getting a gun letting it die and such not so the long and short of it is i broke its neck in front of a minivan full of kids that had stopped to see if i needed help. i would have waited ... but atleast one kid yelled cool instead of screaming.
wish i'da had a knife though much easier. |

| Slitting the throat lengthwise allows removal of the windpipe as well as cooling the meat to avoid spoilage. I try to rinse out the chest cavity and the neck with cold water as soon as possible too. I think originally it was done to allow air to cool the meat. |
