Eastern Ridge Adventures of Maine has notified me of a special spring bear hunting opportunity.

As you may know, Maine has not had a Spring Bear Hunt since 1981. The Passamaquoddy Tribe has conceded they need a bear management harvest plan since their people don't hunt bears. We will be hunting on a 23,000 acre reservation that has only 2 bear kills recorded in over 20 years! We are looking forward to a Great Hunting Opportunity!!!

The total land owned by the Indians is 300,000 acres in Maine. There will be only 300 licenses available worldwide for the only Spring Bear Hunt in the USA this side of the Rocky Mountains. We are fortunate to now have 12 of these licenses through our negotiations and agreements.

We have put together a hunting package that includes Lodging on the lake, all your meals prepared and served, bear recovery and care, skinning and butchering, trophy preparation, and vacuum sealing of your meat. You will be guided to your stand and set up by registered guides. We provide transportation to and from bait sites.

PACKAGE PRICE: $1,750 which includes your $300 license fee to hunt on tribal land.

The hunt will start Monday May 15. Our weeks will run;

Week #1: Sunday May 14 through Sunday May 21
Week #2: Sunday May 21 through Sunday May 28

We will hunt six days, Monday through Saturday. Arrive and depart on Sundays. Lodging will be in our main cottage on Bog Lake.

We currently have 2 permits for week 1 - May 14-21, 2 permits for May 14-21, and 2 permits for May 21-28. The price is $2000 each, fully guided hunt.

We just had a couple hunters switch from the Fall 2006 hunt to the Spring 2006 hunt. So, we now have 2 openings for the first week of the Fall season 2006, August 27- September 3.
