| Howdy y'all... I'm a hunter from S TX (living in N GA) new to the community and just getting into handgun hunting. Can you share your opinins on the merits of a Ruger Super Red Hawk in the .454 Cas vs. the same in the .480 cal? I lke the size of the platform of these Rugers best and I am planning to purchase one of them soon. I will use it for everything from hogs to deer to (hopefully) bison/buffalo. Thanks! -Joe C. |

| All I can say is the 454 will also be able to shoot 45 Colt, while the 480 while more powerful will only shoot ruger's cartridge. The 480 Ruger ammo may be hard to come by as well. Probably want to select a longer barrel for hunting to retain velocity and sight radius. |
