| Well there are lots of public hunting grounds around here. Most of the good ones are around the lakes. I live and hunt around Tuttle Creek Lake and there is a lot of great deer hunting around there, but there is also a lot of people that swarm the area during rifle season. If you are a rifle hunter, good luck, as it is a "crap shoot" if you would see a good shooter buck. If you have the time to come here and do an archery hunt before the place gets over run with hunters, you have substantially better odds of seing good deer. As far as people to get in touch with, the Parks and Wildlife Dept. would be your best resource for available land information. If you get serious and decide to come around here, get a map, and let me know. I'll point you into some good places. |

might want to check out NE KS in the Lawrence - Topeka area. Lot's of public access around Clinton and Perry lakes and Walk-In hunting areas. i've never hunted public land but have heard of some good deer coming out of these areas.
i could possibly get you on some private land if interested. |
