Glad to know I'm not the only one. No doe tag this year and I've seen 12 of the little girls. I've seen some bucks but nothing I could/would shoot at. I don't hunt over apples but I know a lot of hunters this year that say the deer are not interested in them. We have had some miserable hunting weather to deal with though.

Hang in there guys... has it been warm and the bucks have been bedding down, not milling around?

I've got 12" of rain in about 6 days! Everything is a flood and the deer are staying in the thick stuff.

Oh, guess I have never had a hunt screwed over because of rain. A hitherto unseen (on my part) advantage of semi-arid climates...

How much longer do you have in your season?

I passed on a 6 pointer yesterday. Sure hope I don't regret that decision! Still a week and a half left so I can afford to still be picky but after this Sat. any legal buck is going.

The VERY SAME ONE!!! You don't see deer with 14 points up here all that often and the wouldn't you know it, the one I'm tracking gets nailed by a car. It truly was a monster buck. Damn I wanted that deer so BAD!!

Sheez... that is some luck. 14 pointers are pretty rare down here too (so are whitetail for that matter), so I can understand the disappointment.

Well this is definitely the first big buck I have heard that got away because it got smooshed by a vehicle. Were you stalking it when this happened, or just happen to be in the vicinity?

Never mind on the stalking question, just went and re-read your original post...

So, NSBuck how did you do this season? I am currently looking for a good recipe for an unused buck tag. Anybody have one?
