I'm sorry I can't debate either of those subjects because I don't partake of them either. But I know people that drugs have ruined their life and so has prostitution, because they were drug using prostitutes. But I have never met a man or a woman that cock fighting has been the ruination of their lives. Since you are a smarter man than me maybe you know some and can give me some examples. Thanks again New Pard

Can't say that I can oblige you, there. I was simply making the point that experience isn't the only credential needed for debate. If it was, we'd have to discount all those people out there with no experience in hunting that support hunters nevertheless.

As far as my "official" position on cockfighting, I don't agree with it. However, there's a lot of things I don't agree with and I don't demand that they be legislated out of existence.

By the way, Buck, I was mistaken when I said the 67th was the "Gamecocks." They're officially the "Fighting Cocks." I knew them as such, but erroneously thought it was a nickname in lieu of "Gamecocks."

Got a chance to fly back seat with them once a couple years ago -- what a rush.

As they say, you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar, right? Nobody's out to slam anyone on their views here. Friendly debate always gets more interest than hostility.

Who was that masked man that said that about the honey. You know that is what made pro wrestling Or wrassling (Bubba term) so popular some people just love to see someone get their azz kicked. You notice I said some one azz not theirs. Its the nature of the beast (man) anyways you get my drift. DON'T YOU! Just joking with the caps and exclamation punctuation.

Don't take offense at the five dollar words, but you're practically quoting Thomas Hobbes, English philosopher who lived from 1588-1679. Hobbes believed the natural state of man was warlike, and governments arose as social contracts to keep us from killing each other. Without central government, people will lapse back into a state of war, where, in his words:

"there is no place for Industry; because the fruit thereof is uncertain; and consequently no Culture of the Earth; no Navigation, nor use of the commodities that may be imported by Sea; no commodious Building; no Instruments of moving, and removing such things as require much force; no Knowledge of the face of the Earth; no account of Time; no Arts; no Letters; no Society; and which is worst of all, continuall feare, and danger of violent death; And the life of man, solitary, poore, nasty, brutish, and short." (Leviathan, Book I, ch. 13).

Hobbes works his way into foreign policy a lot more than you might think. Kosovo, Rwanda, and Somalia are good examples. Of course, Hobbes would've been a BIG wrestling fan today.

Do you think I could be reincarnated? Naw, well maybe. Don't worry about the five dollar words, just don't go any higher. I understand five dollar words I just have a problem articulating them. Know what I mean? I am bi lingual, I know english but I speak TEXICAN.

Bucknaked40, no more questions from me, just a statement.

I'll admit to having paid attention to you a bit closer than others, not because I think you are crazy or a fool, but simply because most of your posts have a good deal of emotion and what I take to be rage. Your emotion is what I key on not your opinion. Right or wrong, those with more emotion seem to blow up more frequently than others. A blow out is not what I want and as moderator I strive to maintain order. To maintain order I will and have banned people. I don't enjoy it.

As for the opinions of moderator, in an effort to introduce no bias, I do not post them. I have opinions, but to date, I have not banned or censored anyone because I do not agree. This doesn't mean that this is a perfect free speech zone, it shouldn't be taken as such, but as much liberty that can be tolerated (as judged by BigGameHunt.net staff) is given.

Wow, I leave for 20 or so hours and Bucks back. Buck you will be happy to know that I attended the court hearing today concerning the cockfighting issue here in Oklahoma. I was very pleased with the out come of the hearing and feel that it was a strike in the right direction. Powder

I'm curious -- is this recent legislation binding on Indian reservations, or do they have the autonomy to allow it if they wish?

I am not sure about the indian part of this so I can't comment either way.
I do know that the Judge ruled today that there were to many unanswered questions to the new law and that there would have to be a Merit Hearing to determine if the law will stand up.

Oh, by the way, Powder, to answer your previous question back on about page 2, I think we established links to both Kevin Bacon and PETA. But don't forget that Kevin Costner starred in "JFK" with Bacon, as well as "13 Days" which dealt with the Cuban missile crisis. Also remember that Costner played a Russian spy in "No Way Out." Some might argue that his tour in "3000 Miles to Graceland" establishes a link to Elvis, but it doesn't seem likely that there would be any controversy or weird theories involving The King.

Of course, when it comes to evil intent, Costner did practically bankrupt Hollywood to afflict us with "Waterworld" and "The Postman."

Oh come now I like Costner and both the Postman and Water World. Remember Costner also played Robin Hood....robbing the rich to feed the poor. I like the Santa Clause ...ELF theory better.

Hey Expatriate do you think that maybe General Risner could have been exposed to Game cocks when he was young. I know that Hot Springs Ark was a hotbed of cocking activity when he was born and since he was also in Oklahoma in the 50ties. Makes you wonder huh? That patch would have been a badge of honor to him and may be what gave him that ever say never attitude. Kinda like ole Alexander's men. Also you don't know where I could get some of those patches, for my collection of memorbillia? I would appreciate any help.
