I had Chinook Pass (Little Naches) in mind for opening day of ELK Modern on Sunday however Chinook is washed out. I then considered Packwood however its not open this weekend. ( I havent bought a tag yet )

Sssooo Im lookin for a place I can camp and hunt with in 3 hours of Tacoma.

ANY SUGGESTIONS would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

You can still get to Little Naches by taking Hwy 12 (White Pass). You can get to Hwy 410 from Hwy 12. I've hunted the Little Naches area for elk. It can be real crowded. I like hunting the area just south of Rimrock Lake, off of Hwy 12. You can camp at the east end of the lake next to a airplane landing strip. Nice campground. I hope you are not hunting alone. Are you going with a group?

Hey,

You can also hunt off of Forest Service road 72 right off of Hwy 410. Its just after Greenwater. The road goes back a long way. There is a lot of country to hunt but it can get crowded. There are a bunch of elk in the area, but I dont know how much damage the Indians did. There are also a lot of good places to camp.

Good Luck
