Well bitmasher we have plenty of moose in Ontario. Although are elk numbers were nearly nonexistant the mnr has started an elk reintroduction about 10 or so years ago and the latest word is we will be able to hunt them in 2007. As for the Whitetail Ontario has one behind every tree and in front of every car. As compared to the USA whitetails ours are wild and much bigger than in the US.

Yeah, there was another guy (Jennings) on the board a while back who mentioned you all had way to many whitetail. Personally I wouldn't know about the size difference though, because there are not many whitetail in Colorado... Perhaps a few on the eastern plains.

Where are the elk coming from that are being re-introduced?

We had a sudden influx of elk back in Sask. There was a widelife reserve that had a big protected herd in it. The whole reserve burned up in a forest fire. The elk left the reserve (nothing really left of the place and are running around the forest fringe. I imagine after they get shot at enough they'll probably find their way back.
