Here's a few 40 S&W loads for prudent hunters to consider as an emergency backup weapon or for short hunting distances only:
1. Hornady 200-gr. XTP Soft Point
2. Double Tap 200-gr. Hornady XTP JHP @ 1,100 fps in Glock 22 (4.5" barrel) = 17.75" & .70".
3. Hornady 200-gr. XTP JHP
4. Double Tap 180-gr. Bonded Gold Dot JHP @ 1,140 fps in Glock 22 (4" barrel) = 14.9" & .73".
5. Speer 180-gr. Gold Dot JHP.
6. Winchester Ranger T 180-gr. JHP (RA40T).
7. Remington 180-gr. Golden Saber JHP.
8. Double Tap 165-gr. Bonded Gold Dot JHP @ 1,240 fps in Glock 22 (4" barrel) = 14.4" & .76".
9. Hornady 165-gr. XTP JHP.
10. For emergency self defense, use: 1.180-gr. FMJ Ball; 2. Any heavy for caliber load from above; 3. Run really fast. :laugh: |
