September 2007 Poll:

Has the high price of gasoline affected your hunting travel plans?

Diesel tends to stay more consistantly priced and with the company fuel card it gets even cheaper

High gas/fuel prices affect just about everything including my hunting plans. I will certainly be looking for closer areas. As well, the higher fuel prices are driving up the price of hunting commodities which means I spend the same and get less or get the same and spend more. :](*,)

I have an hour drive so I'm not in too bad of shape, but I have reduced the amount of times I go to scout.

Most of my hunting is within walking distance of my house or on my way home from work.

My out-of-state hunting is normally done during business trips with the company I work for.

I will admit that it would definitely have an impact if I had to drive any distance to hunt.

Yep, when I smoked my F250's tranny I bought an 02 diesel expecting great things, 17+mpg city, or so I thought. I get a solid 12.5 mpg in the city (I drive 3.5 miles one way) and 12.75-13 mpg with a truck camper and boat. (BTW, I have a Suburu for a daily driver, the diesel was purchsed pretty much as an rv-no I'm not a greenie!)

At this point I'm considering selling the diesel and buying a motorhome for more comfort for the family and fixing the F250 (7.5 mpg) tranny and keeping the old '76 camper for hunting and goofing off. Also, I haven't flown in 18 months due to high cost and fuel prices. On another note, I haven't cancelled any hunting or camping trips due to gas prices.
