I went on this buffalo harvest/hunt last year. This has got to be the best deal around. Four hundred-some pounds of boned-out good meat. Don't let the draw scare you away. The non-trophy hunts were not sold out last year, I guess because not many people know about it. --The trophy hunts have a five-year waiting list.
The hunt is over quickly - they asked me to shoot it in the neck. There is a fence around a ~4000 acre enclosure, but at least you are on the open prairie.

| There are many ranches here in Montana that have buffalo hunts that start at $600 for a cow or small bull, the large bulls cost more usually around $1000-$1200 but there is no waiting list. |

I was told that the animals in Custer State Park will qualify for the record books because they are classified as free-rangeing. That is why some hunters will pay big $$$ and wait for years.
I enjoyed my hunt for the non-trophy bull and I will have meat for a while still. |
