This year I will be visiting my in-laws in the northeast part of Louisiana and was wondering if it would be worth planning a hunting trip there, I cannot seem to find any information about hunting there.

| What will you be hunting? I have heard white tail is good there, but I'm not sure the exact wherabouts. |

Most certainly, it would help knowing what I am hunting for and it will be white tail. Sorry about excluding that significant piece of information.

Most certainly. I am from Louisiana (NE part of state) and I can assure you there are plenty of places to hunt there, depending on the drive you want to make.
I'm sure my response to this board is after the fact, since the season is almost over. However, for future reference I would suggest these spots.
Russell-Sage WMA - over 17,000 acres of land with plenty of whitetail. Just outside of Monroe, Louisiana on I-20.
Jackson-Bienville WMA - Nice hunting there too. Went there alot as a kid, but can't tell you exactly how to get there. I'd look near Bienville Parish.
Tensas National Wildlife Refuge - Some of the biggest whitetail dear you'll find in LA. Hunting by lottery drawing only so contact the LA Dept. of Wildlife to enter drawings. Only problem, you can never be sure how many people you'll be sharing your area with until opening morning. Last time I was there 3 years ago, opening day, I could see 3 different flashlights coming towards me at the same time. This may seem bad, but keep in mind that as a 16yr old I killed my first 8 pt. buck on that WMA and saw a 10pt buck earlier that same morning.
