they are very easy to clean, remove head, use a pair of scissors cut from opening where head used to be to anus, remove guts, they come out just like a fish but with less blood than a fish, grab loose skin where head was removed and pull, the skin comes of very easy, pull down past anus and cut tail section off.Rinse and you are ready to cook, easy way is to broil them ,remove meat from bone and dip in garlic butter, not bad at all.

The best way i found is to make a "snake stik",take a broom/rake handle scrw a few eyelets int it from tip to tip,run a strong piece of rubber coated wire down it and tie it off at the end leaving a loop you can pull tight from the other end.If you use this get them to coil and they usually wont even strike at it,just slip the loop over thier head and tighten, pinem to the ground and cut head off with long knife. If you use a shovel it holds heat and it looks like a threat to them they will go crazy striking at it and try to run.Just carry a sac to throw em in and bury the heads if there are any dogs around that might pick them up.

Just did some test firing of shot shells for pistolas, using .22 r and 38/357, at 7 yards, just out of striking range the .22 r patterns Perfectly for a head shot (cci), about 4" dia, the 38 having significantly more power and dia. c. 10-11" seemingly potent enough for small game at close range, all in all a very satisfying result(s). The 22 rf did not cycle the ruger Mk II, but the patterns were perfectly distributed in both calibers, I'm off for snake harvesting the weekend, I'll give you a report when I get back:) zeN
