| I've read all about rifles for coyotes so my question is strictly about shotgunning for coyotes. I live in the Northeast USA. Shot size is limited in many states. Everything over #1 is typically illegal outside of waterfowl or deer. Our coyotes tend to be on the big size starting around 30lbs. What size shot do folks use for coyotes up close and personal? Would #2 lead work or #1 in some of the non-toxics? Thanks |

| I'd go either buckshot or slugs but either way you put it a 12 gauge from about 50 yards or less with a shot up to 5 will get you the coyote but make it one shot use the bigger stuff |

| Using turkeyloads and aiming for the head is pretty common. Waterfowl shot may not be a bad idea since it is steel shot. |
