| Maineguide, whats the name of your outfit? I would like to do Maine again if work would cooporate. If fact moving there has its appeal, especially if you'd do something about the folks from the state below you moving in and screwing-up the politics! |

Just heard back from the North Carolina wildlife folks. If a scent contains any of the following it is illegal to use;
salt, salt lick, fruit, HONEY, sugar, animal parts or products.
A honeyburn is obviously out of the question. Are there commercial scents that would be ok to use with the above exclusions?

Hi Scott,
Thanks for posting the info. Sounds like "baiting" extends to even food/mineral scents...
Unfortunately I'm not aware of any scent that would work that isn't illegal under those guidelines. |

| What about incense? That doesn't have any natural flavors in it but it might just work. |

I know here in the state of Maine all scents are illegal to use for deer even the stuff they sell in Wal-Mart,Kmart,etc.
You might want to check that stuff out with your DMR for bear.
A game warden told me one time just because these stores sell this stuff don't make it legal to use.
Just a heads up. |
