| I just inherited a recurve bow from my grandpa--a Root recurve bow. He bought it for hunting about 12 years ago, never hunted with it and now its found its way to me. Is this a good bow brand? Is it ok hunting with a recurve bow. I have never bow hunted and I would like to try. Any input? |

I do a fair amount with a recurve. I really enjoy it more than a compound but youhave to put in lots of time to get good. Its a feeling sort of shooting. IE when it feels right its good.
I dont' know about your brand. But make sure there are no cracks and that the limbs are not warped. Other than that if it makes weight, there is no reason not to use it if you want to.
A compound with sights, release, carbon arrows etc..... is much easier to learn to shoot though. And faster.
