Out hunting whitetail in northeast Washington. There are so many turkeys up there now, we had to literally kick them out of the way to get to the deer. I must've seen over a thousand turkey this weekend.

The farmers say the birds are getting pretty bad up there, and are slowly marching further south every year. They hate them because they destroy their crops in various ways. They even get in their barns and tear up the alfalfa bales and ruin the feed for the livestock.

I am thinking that this is an invasion, and we may end up with quite a season on turkeys in ten years or so. The two seasons we have now (spring and fall) don't seem to be impacting their growth any, so we shall see.
