Well, after my last day of class for the spring I headed out to hunt's bowhunting ranch for a scimitar oryx hunt. The first afternoon of the hunt I had a fifty yard shot a nice cow and two young bulls. I passed because I figured I would be able to get closer. That afternoon was spent watching the oryx at 100-150 yards, it was very entertaining watching the two young bulls spare. I also had the chance to watch a nice blackbuck at 15 yards for quite a while. The next morning found me in a ladder stand over looking a feeder that we thought the oryx may come into. well they never showed up but i could see them 250-300 yards away feeding. i watched them for an hour or until they bedded up. i also had two other nice blackbuck and several sika deer visit the feeder that morning. so i decided i would put a stalk on the oryx, more like a crawl because they where in the wide open and I had to belly crawl 200 yards across a dew covered meadow. After I don't know how long I got within 50 yards of the oryx, picked the biggest one out and shot. I hit her a little forward, but with the help of Rickey, we where able to put a lethal arrow in her. she measured Silver in the Records Of Exotics. Her longest horn was 36" and both bases where just over 5."

Equipment used Hoyt Vortec Blackhawk Vapor Arrows Muzzy 4-blade 100 grain BH

Interesting, I have never seen an oryx in comparision to a person, they look about the size of an antelope. Congrats, I've heard oryx is pretty good eating.
