| I am living in Mesa, AZ and own a company that sells air filters for everything from your house to hospital surgery filters. I lived and hunted in California from 1989 - 1995, shot a couple muleys and blacktails, quail and coyotes in Cal. Now I hunt desert Muley's and Coues whitetail. |

I was born and raised in Southern California in the San Fernando Valley. I moved to Arizona in 1987, but still have family in Calif. I'm been in the gun making business for the last 22 years.

| I live in northern california. Most decent hog hunting is on private land in the Monterey area or the King city area. |

Greetings:
You actually live very close to some good hogs. The "Blocksburg" area to the west of you has some good hogs as well as the area immediately north of Shasta Reservoir. I shot a nice hog about 10 miles north of Shasta Reservoir a few years ago...not a lot of hogs in the area, but the numbers are growing...look for tracks on the dirt roads and follow them.
There is also good hog hunting in the middle part of the state on public land. One area I am familiar with is Fresno County, east of Pine Flat Lake. There is a lot of "lowlands" above the lake that is public property with good numbers of hogs and a number of private property owners in Squaw Valley there (not the ski resort) will let you hunt for free (you will have to basically visit the area and make friends, but it is worth it...I shot a hog that went 295 pounds field dressed on private property by doing nothing more than asking!!!).
Best of luck!!! |
