I switched over to carbon's 5 years ago and I've never looked back, they're very tough they're accuret and they penetrate very well
and also you'll get some more speed out of you're Bow, I shoot the gold tips 7595 they work good for me I've killed alot of deer with my set up and almost all my shots have been pass through shots. you also may whant to
look at the nitro stingers by carbon dynamic
they're also very good carbon arrows. just make shure you match them well with you're set up [don't go too light] and you'll be good to go. Good Luck hunting.

I agree, i will go with carbon..

it is more stable and more effective, alluminum bends and breaks and carbon doesn't bend and break, though it will break but it will have to sustain a great amount of pressure or a great hard deal of impact..

when i shot at a doe last year, she was at 35 yards and i thought she was at 30, i released and missed, went right under her and into the tree, didn't damage the arrow one bit but did a number on my Steel Force..

good luck and god bless :D

Don't if you are still watching this string...but I like the aluminum.

I started with Alum and switched to carbon after I became more experienced, but I have gone back to alum since.

When I switched to carbon, my groups tightened up and of course there was more velocity. However, one day, I shot one set just fine, pulled the arrows, and shot them again and had one basically implode. There were no signs of damage to the arrow, it didn't hit anything but the target, so I don't know what weakened it, but it was scary.

I switched back to alum since, and the velocity isn't as high, but my groups are actually the same now as when I shot the carbons. The loss of velocity is all that much either. I've had several kills between 15 and 65 yards and all have been pass through kills with the aluminum.

You will almost always have a pass through with aluminum but I still shoot carbons for the speed, making longer shots possible. I have never had a carbon pass completely through but I shoot lighter carbons and they still put 2 holes in a deer.

I shoot the Carbon Weave carbons that are about 8 gr per inch, with a 100gr rocket head they fly flatter than any other combo I have tried.Even among carbons you have a big weight difference between brands.I have a pile of the first carbons I bought that are so much hevier they hit 1 1/2 feet lower than my carbon weaves at 40 yards. As far as penetration goes I shot a goat the other day at 62 yards and the arrow went through the bottom of the shoulder blade and into the heart, thats REAL good for 62 yards! :thumbsup1:

I shot 2216's in one bow and 2314's in the other.
I tried a quality, name brand carbons this year. The sights did tighten up a hair. There was no noticable difference in the groups. Tuning was easy enough. They either fly well or they are trash.
What I didn't like was. I wore out a half dozen before the season started. The outer skin was frayed. I also shot two of them with other arrows and they splintered. Leaving splinters in my fingers that I had a very hard time getting out. They didn't seem to hit with as much authority. I felt more confident with the aluminum.
I also build my own arrows and find it much easier to build and refletch on the aluminum shafts.
They're OK but, I'm going back to the aluminum. I can tweak them if they are a little bent. If I strike one with another arrow. It may still be usable. Where as, I wouldn't trust using a carbon that has been scared.
Both of my bows are very fast. In excess of 310 and 320 fps. With a 5 pin site on one and a single pin site on the other. The trajectory and velocity difference, between the aluminum and carbon wasn't enough to shake a stick at.

carbon are deffinately the way to go, strong and durable , the almuinum will bend very easily and for almost the same price why not get carbon arrows, they will not bend , and only bad if you break them

I can't even believe this is a discussion. First and formost, aluminum carries more kinetic energy because they are heavier. KE= stopping power. Second, look at the guarenteed straightness when you go out and buy your next set of arrows. You cant get carbons at +- .001 straightness. With aluminum, unless you hit something that you shouldn't be shooting at, your arrows will stay straight, I shoot almost every day. I buy a dozen arrows at the end of hunting season every year, I use 6 to target shoot, and shoot 3D leagues with, and I fletch up 6 for hunting the following season, by the beginning of season, the target arrows that I have been shooting, are still as straight as the day that I bought them, unless I miss what I am aiming at, or hit one with another arrow. and when either of these 2 things happen, carbon or aluminum, these arrows should not be shot anymore. Just my 2 cents worth.... Go out and buy yourself a good dozen Super Slam Selects, I prommise you will not find a better arrow.

I personally have never shot carbons, but I agree about the KE. Faster is not always better(for hunting anyway).

I would say experiment and make your own decision. I will probably never switch to carbon since I am more than happy with aluminum. They just don't let you down.
