2)Then find pole and line
3)Then attach hook to line
4)Bait hook
5)Place hook and bait in water

When are you coming here, and what kind of fishing do you want to do? There are many options available from sea charter for halibut to remote fly ins for rainbow trout. A lot of what you fish for depends on the time of year.

I don't know what kind of help you want. You say you want to go fishing for salmon and trout. Again, do you want to fly in? Do you want to charter a boat? The silver salmon run in August. You can catch them in the Matanuska Valley in the rivers or in the ocean at Seward are two very common choices.

If you just want to catch fish and don't really care what go to the Kenia river. There should be a bunch of humpies(pinks)running in August. If your limited to Anchorage go try Ship Creek. You may get a silver or two out of there. Not really sure of that area, the silvers run later here and we are covered with pinks in August.
