I was wondering if anyone has good experience with these things. I've heard that Pro-hunters are good, but I wanted the higher BC of the Gameking. How do they hold together on whitetails? All I can find for info is that they're good for small to big game depending on caliber and that long ranges are its specialty. Mostly want a good cheap bullet for deer from 10-250 yards out of a .280 Rem. Thanks. -MV

| I've used the gameking's (150-180 grain) without issue on elk out to 400 yards. |

Well, I'd already loaded some .300 Savage and .308 with the 150 gr Gameking, but have yet to try them on any brown-haired victims. Sounds like I made a good choice there...Well, if you took elk with 150 and 180 grainers and had no problems, then I don't see why 120 or 140 grainers won't perform reliably on deer! | If you mean Federal Sierra Gameking, I believe this is the round, if not, it's close, it's 165 grain bullet is the most powerful factory ammo available for the 7mm Remington Magnum, all bullet weights included. I believe I have some 180 grain Sierra Gameking ammo for my 30-06, I'll have to look and see. |

A friend of mine that works at the local gun store has hunted Alaska and Africa. Every time I go in there looking for bullets to shoot he says. "Just try some of these Sierra's, that's all I ever used". He grabs a box of Pro Hunters or Gamekings and hold them out for me to grab. His calibers of choice were, 30-06, 270win, 338win mag, and the 375 H&H. 375 being his favorite. I would say they must be good if they worked for him.
The difference in the flight between the Pro Hunters and the Gamekings is going to be minimal at hunting distance from a field shooting position.
I picked up a box of 110gr Pro Hunters to shoot through my 270wsm for antelope (speed goats).

The purpose would be 120 grains at close to 3200 fps. The reason is that I've got one hayfield that most shots might be 75-100 yards, but some could be up to 250. Since there might be a wide variance in impact velocity, I want a good all-around bullet. So far haven't heard anything bad about the Sierras. Thanks all.
