It's hard for me to believe that people can shoot without CLEARLY identifiying thier target but, it happens every year. Be careful with decoys and never stalk a turkey alot of times its an other hunter.

To me there are no such a thing as a hunting "shooting" accidents. There are too many steps involved that you must take in order to pull the trigger.
Not knowing what you are shooting at is not an accident, poor hunting ethics, but not an accident.
To point your firearm, aim, pull the trigger is a deliberate act and just because what you shot isn't what is in season , isn't what you "thought"(oxymoron) it was or is a human doesn't make it an accident and news stories such as this one should not call it an accident. It is a shooting !!!
As in the 1st tale of the story, there should be no option of not to prosecute but rather it be automatic by the state. |

| Yeah, it would take someone pretty stupid to mistake a person for a turkey. |
