| Why is it that people use the phrase fork-n'-horn when deer have antlers? Just something to ponder. |

Many people call our four-point deer fork-horns here in WI, as long as they have a main beam that forks on each side. Also known as forky or forker. (I shot that forker!) Why some people call them horns instead of antlers is beyond me. I've been guilty of it myself. Maybe its laziness...'horns' is one syllable, and 'antlers' is two. It's the same reason some call the .308 and .30-06 different calibers (both .30 caliber) instead of different cartridges. It's also a regional thing...one of my nice 8 point bucks would be called a 4x4 or a 4-by in some western areas...

oh yeah hehe duh we just call em forked horn... prolly no one knows why ppl say horn instead of antler?? *shrugs* maybe it's just easier & we're lazy.
