Hi all, I am thinking of getting a New England Firearms - "Huntsman" mizzleloader and any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks - Gordy.

Thank you Buckmaster, I heard the sights are crap, any idea where to get a better set? Also I want to put on a scope with see thru mounts, any thoughts? This is my first go at this and its a little confusing. Regards - Gordy.

I had a see-through scope mount on my .30-06 at one time. Got rid of it. It sets the scope too high. I came to the conclusion that I had to decide if I wanted a gun with a scope or a gun with open sights. Now I have a scope mounted down as low as possible. Much better.

I should probably add, I have peep sights on the muzzleloader that I use for hunting. They are plenty precise enough for muzzleloader distances.
