Yowies, So those tracks are actually found around dead animals which have been freshly killed?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that sounds crazy!! |

This is all over Australia though; not just here in Sydney.
Its either a completely new cat-like animal unknown to science or its an evolved T.c.
The prints though show not catlike traits, no animal here has the same digits like these show.
As for the age of the hundreds of prints found, it ranges from small cub sized to huge adult 25cms long.
Some of the attacks on animals are horrific.
The entire flesh stripped to the bone in what appears to be long incisors that just rip the animal to shreds.
Entire organs are just eaten in one go and there doesn't appear to be a struggle nearby these dead animals which shows it either dropped out of a tree or it just was so stealthy.
Yowies, I should probably re-state "Crazy" as that would be "Awesome" if these un-known tracks are found around fresh to recent kill.
I just find it interesting that there are animals, bugs, and aquatic life on this plant that are still being discovered on a daily basis!!

I see what you mean...No I didnt say these tracks were around fresh kills.
Sorry if you thought I implied that.
The tracks and the kills are two different stories months apart. Years in some cases.
Here is another cast I made from an original found just after Christmas just gone.
This is defintely a cat and has been described by Toronga Zoo in Sydney as a 40kg cat minimum.
Now this has an interesting story; found at the same place the first one I posted whcih your commenting on.
It was chased by a dog and in three huge leaps; lepaed over 12 metres and up a 8 foot high mound of dirt.
Then it either stopped and confronted the dog or they just went for each other as there are struggle and scratch marks everywhere.
There was 15 dog tracks and 12 Cat prints.
Now what are they??
If these are definetly cat tracks there are only three it could be. Leopard/Jaguar or Puma.
So my question again is; can anyone identify this print. At 40kg that's a big cat, although even a 2 yr old Leopard can weigh more than there mothers.

I Misunderstood; yes near fresh kills T.c prints are found.
These are not from where I showed that print from is what I meant. |
