| How many deer is to many deer. Here this year I filled all but one of my tags, I have been hunting for 15 years, in the past 3 years I have switched over to just bow. I hunt hard every year and scout year round, I work hard for every deer I get. I have never wasted any deer meat and eat it weekly all year long. This year I had a fellow hunter tell me that I was greedy due to the amount of deer I has shot. I would like to think that he was just jealous, but respect his thoughts. So please let me know what you think is to many. Thanks for the input and good hunting to all. |

I believe it is a personal decision. If nothing is going to waste and you are not killing for the sake of killing... By all means fill your tags. Now, if you shoot 11 does or something outrageous... maybe that's a bit much... but again, it's all in your perspective. Some people do have a "sickness" and cannot let a pass by, no matter how many they already have (bucks, does, etc.)
Fill the freezer my friend.

If you have legal tags for it, and will eat it before next season go ahead.
Putting a blanket number figure on something like that is pointless. In NS where I just came from anymore than 1 per hunter would have severe effects on the population.
In SK there were so many deer everyone could probably shoot 2 or 3 with no noticeable effect. |

If you have tags for all the deer you've taken, I don't see the problem. Plus you don't waste the meat.
Some states have an over abundance of deer and need to be thinned, that's why more tags are issued.
I don't see why anyone would have a problem with your deer hunting. |

If you have the tags and are going to use the meat, go for it. Here in WI we have way too many deer, and killing a few each year will not harm the herd one bit. I agree though, don't kill just to kill.

If the state is giving out so many tags, the deer population can take it! They give so many because some people will refuse to take more than thier self-imposed limit. The problem is, that doesn't help the state meet there objectives. So, they give them out to everybody hopeing that some people will take more than others. If the herd your hunting isn't getting too thin, go for it. I sugest keeping an eye on the deer in your area and if you start seeing less, maybe you should cut back. Thats probobly not the case though.
As far as too many. If you shot 4 deer and consume 4 deer...perfect! I have been taking 4 deer a year for the last 7 or 8 years because thats how many deer my family will consume before next season. The year before I started taking 4, I took 6 deer and had way too much meat. I decided that year 4 would be enough and ever since then it has worked out almost perfectly!
It sounds like you have a good place to hunt! |

| If you intend to eat or give away the meat and your within your legal limit, more power to you. I've heard some of the eastern states have exploding whitetail populations, so your probably actually doing a public service by taking as many as you'll use. |

We've already eaten a bunch while boning & cutting up the others we've gotten this year. We usually have a venison dinner of some sort at least once a week and eat it every weekend while icefishing! Can't beat it.

Well I just got back from Nebraska and there we have to shoot 150 does in 2 weeks.
In an area that should only have 30 deer we have over 300. If your shootin deer with tags u got from the state though i would say no your not killing to many deer. |

| I think everyone should consider what deer they are taking and not just how many. If u shoot alot of young bucks, u will not see any trophys in the future. Think long term and take only what u need. |
