I'm not from Maine, but I get up there every year now for deer season. My gradfather was born and raised in Maine, (rest his soul) He never did loose his accent. He was a wonderful old fella.
Here is a pic of the buck I shot in Maine this season. It sure was tough hunting this year.

Great looking white tail. If any of you guys get over to Newport give me a call and I will give you a tour of our preserve. 207-356-3582
When a red stag comes in, you take notice. This 15 point stag had several females and a 10 point subordanate stag with him.
This 10 pointer was sneaking past one of our ground blinds in a hard wood opening.
From the woods of Hindsite,
Mark Luce

firstdeer9pt,
I noticed your reply and I thought I would give you a heads up on Hunt Preserves in Maine. We were licensed in 1999 and they have closed the door to any future licensing of game preserves.
You could start a deer farm and raise deer for hunt preserves, but with the current laws you could not operate a Preserve. You can raise red dear, fallow deer , sika deer and elk. You can not raise whitetail in Maine.
In order to operate a hunt preserve you would have to buy an existing hunt preserve or get the law changed that governs our industry.
If you email me I will send you my URL and you can check out our site. We have hunters coming from as far away as California and inquires from around the world. I am a member of the Maine Deer and Elk Farmers Association and I would be glad to help you in any way I can. If you thought you might like to buy an existing Preserve I might be able to locate one for you to purchase.
Take care,
Mark Luce |
