BigG welcome to the board!
Have you tried calling the division of wildlife or DNR in California? Usually they have information on the game species hunted in a region (when to hunt, where to hunt, how to hunt, etc).
When you say boar, do you mean javelina? |

Try checking with some of the BLM field offices at http://www.ca.blm.gov
They've provided me with activity reports and topo maps in the past. Some offices have very active programs on wild pigs. |

Welcome Lever! BLM stands for "Bureau of Land Management". In most (maybe all states) its public land that is open to hunting.
Good luck in learning the 'hunting' ropes! Do you have a Dad, uncle, friend or someone that can take you out hunting? It helps to go out with someone experienced when you're first starting out. |

| i don't know where in california you want to hunt, but if you want a great deal and have a lot of fun with a rifle try tejon ranch in lebec, ca. they have a pig-o-rama for $300.00 it is a weekend hunt fri-sun. and the largest pig wins $500.00 the ranch is huge and you can hunt one of three areas. for 2003 they have hunts march 14-16, april 25-27, and june 6-8. call barbara at 661.663.4288 success is great, but it's harder if you want to win. one of the best prices going. good luck. |
