It's been a very slow year here in Western MA this shotgun season. I've heard of some nice bucks being taken... but not too many.
I didn't get a nice buck, but I did get a 105lb doe yesterday afternoon. No bragging rights there, but she sure will taste good. We can't be picky with the way this season is going. |

I enjoy the bears, but i'd much rather fill the freezer with venison than bear. I cooked up some of that doe yesterday and she was great...

Well, I just took a nice doe yesterday with the muzzleloader. She'll be tastey as well. Now I've used both of my doe tags, so I have to hunt for horns for the last week. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Congrats and good luck finding your buck!! It's been slow down here I've been hunting this buck around our lower pasture since back in Oct. when I first saw his scrapes and rubs. I haven't seen him yet but our nieghbor has and said from about 150 yards away he could tell the buck had a real good rack so I been hunting evry chance I get. But I'm still waitn'

Well boys, you were all right... I did get my buck! I shot a beautiful 8 pointer on Saturday with the muzzloader. He just about had a 16" spread. He didn't weigh very much, and when we caped him out we found broadhead and 6" of arrow in his backstrap. Oh well, my first big racker. He's going on the wall. I'll post some pics as soon as i get them downloaded.
