| Which rifle will you start the 2009 season with? I am undecided either 336 Marlin in .35 Rem or .450 Marlin 1895MR (Large caliber but a BLAST to shoot). |

| It all depends on what I am hunting. My first one off the rack was a custom built .257 Roberts for an antelope. The next one was a Ruger 77 in 7mm Remington for a deer and an elk, and I'll finish it off with a Weatherby fiber mark in .340 Weatherby for an elk here in Colorado hopefully next week. |

I'm not hording anything. I walked into a sporting goods dealer in Utah and couldn't believe what I saw. I bought 4 boxes of them and two days later figured that I had better go back and buy the other 4 that he had. Those things are a thing of the past now in any probably any dealer and I should have enough until I decide to quit hunting and give the rifle to a deserving kid that will love it like I have. |

I grab my Browning 1969 BLR .308 given to me from my Grandfather. This Gun meant a lot to him and was put in his gun cabinet in 1971 for me and was given to me in 1990. I Shoot nothing but Bucks with this gun.
My G-Father would be proud 17bucks in a row. :thumbsup1:
My other gun I love to grab is a new M77 international .308 |

I'm actually thinking of using my BLR in .450 Marlin (350gr) myself for the opener in Kentucky. The area we hunt is very thick and swampy and there's no chance for a long range opportunity. You're right, it's a blast to shoot. I will also likely use my CZ 550 FS in 9.3x62(285gr) at some time there, during the season.
My Tennessee area does have a possibility for a pretty long shot, so I'll likely use either my 673 in 6.5 Rem mag(120gr) or my Mod Seven in .270WSM(130gr). Might just flip a coin.
Hunting in W.V. after that and I think it will be my BLR in .358(200gr) there. |

I will be going with old reliable Winchester Model 70 bolt action 30-06.
If the weather is truly foul ( as its predicted to be) I will take my Marlin Lever action 30-30. |

Well, I'll probably take my Marlin 30AW in 30-30. This will be the first season. I had a H&R Handi-Rifle and a guy wanted to trade me straight up! This Marlin is LIKE NEW!
I've always wanted one exactly like this because my grandpa let me use his to kill my first deer when I was 12. Been wanting one ever since. :)
Good luck this season fellas and fellettes. |
