Folks-

I'm looking for info on caribou hunts as my wife and I are thinking of booking our dream hunt. We like the idea of Alaska, where we could fill a second caribou tag with a wolf, bear, or wolverine. But we're not discounting Canada either. We'll probably only hunt 'bou once, so we're looking for the very best trip there is. Anyone have a really great outfitter to recommend?

Thanks-

Carl

Carl,

We have a number of great outfitters we recommend in Alaska and every province of Canada. Each outfitter and each location offers great caribou hunting, but each offer a unique experience. We have hunted with each of these outiftters and we send many clients to them, so we know that any of them will give you that dream trip you are looking for. Because we have so many options with so many outfitters, we can fit you with the one who provides what you are looking for. Give me a call or shoot me an email and we can discuss them further.

Mickey-

Thanks for the info, I may give you a shout at some time. To tell the truth I'm really looking for recommendations from regular people who have been on a hunt and had a great experience. I don't doubt you have some good outfitters, but I know what the booking agent/outfitter relationship is (I was a guide here in Montana) and I want to get some unbiased and honest feedback before I talk to a booking agent.

Thanks-

Carl

Carl,

I hear you about getting unbiased info and recommendations. That is one of the reasons I am in this business, to help people find great hunts with great outfitters. Because we represent so many outfitters, we are at least able to offer less biased info because we have multiple options for the client. Also, because as a booking agent, I depend on repeat business, I want to send clients to outfitters who are going to be what the are looking for. Of course, we have references on all of our outfitters.

I hope you get the recommendations you are looking for from some of the hunters in this forum. If at some point you would like to discuss the outfitters we have further or just talk about hunting in general, give me shout. I hope you find a great hunt however it works out.

I'd get a hold of Tim Lee- West Wind Outfitters--I hav eNOT hunted with him BUT have heard good things--and mostly from guys like you- when I lived in AK(74-98) I hunted them from Arctic- interior etc--always fun but not exactly a dream hunt to me- might look at a combo- from your post looks like you want a transporter and not a Guide? Success will depend upon how well you do yuor home work and how much prior experience you and your wife have. PM me if you want more info from a regular guy.
