Hey all. This is my first elk archery hunt. I have spent the last decade rifle hunting in Colorado and finally got drawn here in my home state of AZ. I have been scouting but have no idea what changes the weather will bring to the unit in the next three weeks. Is it better to hunt low in the Junipers or stay in the pines up high? Do the resident herds stick around until the the thick of winter or migrate to lower elevation after the first couple snows? I am not looking for anyones secret spot, just some guidance so I am not spinning my wheels in a massive area! Thanks!!!

Good luck should be a tuff hunt with a bow in november and elk most likely will not be bugling. I'd call the fish and game agent for that area they would gladly help you out.

23 is awsome! I would hunt just north of Christopher creek and head south! I saw the biggest bull I have ever seen on the hoof back near the wilderness! :thumbsup1:
