Welcome to BGH forums. I've never had a problem with caps/primers so I don't see that being much of an issue.
What conditions are you planning to use it in? Expected range? Species?
Thompson Centrearms (TC) seem to be the overwhelming favourite. I shoot a Traditions Pursuit (which is at the lower end of the price spectrum) and it serves me fine. If you're looking for "conventional-like performance (+100yds) you'll want you more gun than what I have, it's performance really starts to drop past 75yds and I wouldn't reccomend it period past 100. |

| I would be using it for deer, and the rang could be any where from point blank rang out to a 150 yards. |

| I have also looked at the CVA electronic gun , very impressive .. but also have looked closely at the Thompson Center since you can change out the Barrels and do alot more for your money. |

Hi JB , A Thompson Center Encore , 50 cal. with 250 gr TC Shock Wave's in front of three 50 gr pellets of triple seven works great every time for me.
There are a lot of less expensive MZ out there that are fine also. My son has a traditions with the breach plug that screws out by hand. That is very handy and it shoots great. |

| I have the TC pro hunter very satisfied with it. Also shoot 250 gr. shockwave 3-50s triple 7. Holds a nice pattern.Shoots great out to 250 yrds. Killed a nice elk at 60yrds. Good luck hunting........ |
