| I friend of mine has hit the skids and is selling a few firearms and being a good friend I told him I will buy one from him the problem is I can't make up my mind about what to buy I have my choices narrowed down to a Smith & Wesson 1911 the blued 5inch version with wood grips or a Browning Abolt Medallion in 325 WSM. He wants $675 for each they are both like new in box he has put 50 rounds down range with the 1911 and the Abolt has never had a scope mounted on it. If you had to chose one to buy what would it be? I'm only asking because I really don't need any of these guns but I'm just trying to help him out financially as much as I can. The 1911 is cool to me because I don't own that style pistol but I'm always a sucker for a fine hunting rifle. Life is hard with such difficult decisions :](*,) |

| I would't really care for either but for a friend, if I had the money, I'd take the rifle and tell him to come get it back when he could. |

| I think the .325 is a heck of a cartridge and have little interest in the 1911s. I load for a buddy's rifle and it shoots 220 grain A-Frames 2850 with 1/2 inch accuracy. Recoil is very tolerable, much less than a .338 or .358 Norma in my opinion. |

Depending on what you enjoy hunting (of course), I'd opt for the Medallion in .325 WSM. I have a BLR chambered in .325 and like the post above, I don't find the recoil objectioable. I even carry it for deer, it's such a light/handy rifle. I believe the A-Bolt has a 23" barrel and a fairly compact overall length, being a S/A cartridge. It will make a good looking and handy addition to your collection!

| Well I actually ended up buying some reloading equipment from him instead of a new rifle it worked out better for both of us I think. |
