I spent the entire day searching for bear sign and found nothing. I new it would be bad when the spring I planed to follow down a certain ravine was dried up, but, I checked the ravine anyway. Everything was there but water and bear sign. The berries are ripe and pentiful and acorns are on the ground. I did see a honeybee instantly when I open a sweeted sport drink. I'll check the area again after a couple good rains, but for now I'll have to check near some ponds in other areas. We can bait on private land here in Arkansas, but not on public land. I've not heard any neighbors complain of bear this year, but the Game and Fish killed one accidently in Little Rock city limits(It fell from a tree when they trancquillzed it ). Hope I have better news to report in the days to come.

| Have there typically been bear in this area in years past? Strange that they would disappear if they had been in the area before... |

| Bitmasher I think they may have been 1700 feet below in the river valley feeding and watering near ranches and farms. BigE its likly they are being baited. with increasing numbers of bear in the area there are more hunters coming in as well |
