| I have been wondering .... A freshly cleaned and oiled gun has a wonderful smell. But I I figure if I can smell it certainly so can a deer. Since a deer would never smell it except when hunters are present they might learn to associate that smell with danger and avoid it like they do human scent. Does anyone know anything about this? Can anything be done to reduce the oil/solvent smell? Have any actual studies been done? |

| Never had a problem with it and have been rifle hunting for many years. You should never have too much oil on your rifle anyway. A very thin (almost invisible) film is all that is needed. It's the human scent that scares away animals. |
