life is good... :D I got my first ever bear on my first hunt no less. He was a 2 year old and between 225 and 250. Not huge but from what people are telling me he is average for colorado? (comments on size encouraged).Bears are really hard to judge size wise!I shot him at about 50 yds with a 444 marlin. The round put him right down. I should have held out for a bigger one but he was the 4th one I seen and didnt want to push my luck. I'd post pictures but cannot get them to load says file is empty? any tips?
hey elkills Thanks for the taxadermy tip  |

Westslope congrats on a fine bear! :thumbsup1: That is actually quite big for a 2 year old, if he did wiegh that much I would say he was more like 4 or 5 years old. Judging bears is one the most difficult especially when you do not have something there to help tell how big he really is. Congrats again.
You will definitely like your bear when Matt gets done with it! |

| Congrats! Sounds like a good bear; judging them is remarkably tough; sounds like you did good. |

Congradulations on your first bear.
Here's my first bear last year from Canada he weighed 200lbs.
I bought a Colorado bear tag for 2nd rifle season.
I use photo bucket to host my pictures and then copy link and place in between img
