Hey fellow hunters - My daughter turned 12 this year and was lucky enough to draw a late season rifle deer tag for unit 40-1 in Idaho. This will be her first deer hunting adventure and I was hoping to find her a nice buck.
I am not familiar with this area at all and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
I am definitely not asking for anyone’s “Honey Hole” as I know that crosses the line.
However, any information would be extremely appreciated. |

Raven1 that's a prime time to be hunting. I've never hunted that unit but I'd look for the does and watch for the bucks chasing. During the rut is when the BIG bucks loose their heads and just focus on chasin hot does. Good luck and let me know how it goes.
that's a sweet time of year for anyone to hunt, let alone a younster :) |
