Hello all, I just got my hunting permit this summer and i'd like to give large game a try but my problem is that I have no idea where to look. I'd like to try for white tail this fall, and preferably somewhere close to the montreal island.
It looks like zones 1,2,3,18, 26 and 27 are all fairly close, which ones should I start scouting? and which ones should I stay away from ? I don't want to get my car beat up by some locals who don't appretiate me taking their deer
Or if anyone has an open slot in their moose hunting party or need a young partner, send me a pm, i'm not new to the sport and can hold my own.
Any random tips are more than welcome. |

Bienvenue mon ami
I'm not sure what zones they are but I know that most of western QC: Rigaud north to Otter Lake have plenty of deer, particularly around Gatineau/Shawville.
Bonne Chasse! |

Pas probleme...my french sucks
I know from driving between Ottawa and Halifax and the odd course in St Jean that all along the rural areas of Hwy 20 and south of the city: Chambly to Ste Jean I've seen plenty from the highway. Getting access might be tricky though.
The best of the best in QC would be Anticosti Island, but that's a drive and a half from Montreal...not to mention pricey. |
