Curious to know if anybody has hunted quail on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington. I see quail in town and running around in fields, but have yet to see any out in the forests. Wondering if I should even bother keeping a few quail shells when out grouse hunting?

I used to try hunting mountain quail in the Cascades in Oregon. Much to heavy cover for me. But I know they are there becasue I see them on the road!

hunt quail in the oregon cascades, west side. I find most of my quail in the 2-3 year old clear cuts. I would think it would be same up there, check out the clear cuts.
Good luck,

I'll check those clear cuts. Thanks. Mostly it is really heavy cover and then the occassional meadow. I have searched the meadows, even the ones up on the high ridges, but only seem to find grouse.
