Yes, good luck!
Usually you have go go a little bit further. Rocky Ford, 1.5 hours east of Pueblo has some birds on public land, but not many.
There may be a honey hole close to I-25, but there's no way they would ever give it up. If you can get on private property, then even better.
I would look into the Kansas border towns. I gave up hunting Colorado Ringnecks and just push an extra 2 hours across the border. My dog and I get rewarded handsomely. |

| I agree. Been hunting pheasant on various public and private land areas of the front range almost every year since 1985 and have never been happy with the lack of roosters. It can be good hunting, but the "getting" is another story. I don't bother anymore, stopped doing pheasant here a couple years ago myself. If you want to make it worthwhile, better to go to Kansas, Nebraska, or better yet - the Dakotas. Hell, I don't even bother to hunt waterfowl here anymore. I go to Oregon and Montana for that . I only stay in Colorado for hunting big game. |
