Well, it's Official, the wife got drawn for moose. Last week of Sept. we're heading N back to the land of no fences. Son can't get leave, so I'll get the "partner" tag.
Have talked to the county office, the forest ranger, and the F&W officer for the area; (all were incredibly helpfull) have printed a map off google earth, and have gps co-ordinates marked on it so this prairie boy doesn't get too lost in the bush. (emphasis on the "too")
If we can get there we've found a lake that the F&W officer say's he's, "never seen a boat on", so we're taking the canoe and a nice assortment of Len Thompson's.
The wife's getting pretty sharp with her 30-30, and I've got a sweet load worked up for the 450 with a 400gr Hawk.
Wife and I went for groceries in Taber today, and on the way home we started making a mental list.
I turn 50 next month, and I'm like a kid waiting for xmas! Time may get quicker as you age, but just look forward to a hunt, and it'll slow right down! |
