Gators???? What do you use to hunt gators?
Do people consume alligator or is this mainly just for population control? |

Bitmasher, I can't say how gator tastes, but according to this article it sounds like at least one weapon for hunting gator is a harpoon!
The article also gives a bit of gator hunting history and information. |

Crosshairs, I have read up on gator hunting a little bit since I read this original article.
I'm not sure about exact costs, but I did see an ad in a recent hunting mag for gator hunts in Florida. The outfit is called Parker Island Gator Farm (www.parkerislandgator.com) Nothing at the web site though. I just saw the ad, so I know nothing about this outfit. Could be bad, could be good....
Florida and Louisianna have gator hunts. |

| just so you all know gator meat is excellent, it's good in a cajun sauce over rice or breaded an deep fried served with some good hot sauce, it's probably good a lot of other ways too but thats the only ways i've had it |

Gator hunting is a blast!!!
I went in Sept. and it was truely a expirence that I recomend to anyone! The swamps are full of things that I have never seen before and the people were awsome!
You can hunt with a bow and arrow with a retriever reel on it. Many other ways too.
Its fun but not cheap. |

This is great for you hunters in the States, after being a Crocodile Hunter for 26 years, I am please that they are controlling numbers over there. I not too fussed on the meat and croc is the same. Harpoon is the only way to go.. I have caught crocs on hooks (10os) and this works well.
