Today I found my biggest treasure.I was back to my new hunting grounds following trails looking for rubs and scrapes.I looked up the trail and all I could see were tines. What a rush knowing that right the an there you just found something you might not see alive in the wild, tobad he didn,t wait til this fall,LOL.I did a rough score and came up with 159 net typical points on a 5x6 frame.
No bottom jaw.Age? |

I've done some hard shed hunting the last few years .... getting better at it .
Found some beauties and a couple of skulls as well .
Found these this spring ....
The one in the bottom of the above photo is the right side of this guy ! He is on the top of my list this season .... he survizes in a heavily hunted area .... closesy I got to him in the archery season was 65 yards ( this picture ) . He is basically nocturnal ... maybe 3 or 4 days during the rut to make a move on him during daytime ....
Another beauty matching set from last spring ....

RAK : Yep .... Ontario ... spring shed hunting scratches the itch after an exciting fall bow season !
Gets the blood pumping .... thinking " so that buck made it thru the season " now I got a handle on where to look for him next fall ! |
