I was going to start planning a hunting trip to Illinois and was wondering Which part of Illinois is known for its trophy whitetails. Thanks

Mississippiboy,
The South and Southwest part of the state have some big deer. Getting a permit will be difficult this late. Some muzzleloader permits are still available. I hunt Lawrence County. TEK from Starkville, MS.

Mississippiboy,
In Mississippi I hunt Oktibbeha and Monroe Counties. In Illinois I hunt Lawrence County. Got my Tag for Illinois today and plan to go up for December 4 -7 hunt with muzzleloader. I just got back from Georgia hunting opening muzzleloader weekend. Had a great time.
