here are a few trail cam pics i got last year. I know this buck or maybe its two different buck didnt get shot because this land was not hunted last year.
My question is do you think these are the same buck?
I got these pics about an hour and a half apart on the same cam but I was in the area checking my camera between the two pics so I know that it was just a buck sitting in front of my camera! |

| I can't tell. It's really difficult with young bucks. |

| I don't have much experience with blacktails, but quite a bit with mule deer and whitetails, either of which I consider myself very good at aging on the hoof. If that were a mule deer or whitetail, I'd call him two years old. Two year olds and yearlings tend to have that "doe with antlers" look. If that really is an above average set of antlers for your area, would you say the body is larger than average? Think about the deer you've seen, is the gut about level or does it sag? Do the front shoulders look about as powerful as the other deer you've seen and put on the ground? If the answer is yes, this may be a three year old, but that would not have been my first guess. |

i think you maybe right this is not an old buck! the body on this buck is way smaller then most bucks ive seen and shot. i think he must have grown a decent rack at a young age, that being said this must be the same buck.
I just cant get passed the fact that i was in there checking my trail camera in between these pictures. |
