| Hi, I'm new to this forum and would like to know if there are other Ontario hunters checking this forum out too. |

Hello Ahunter and welcome to the boards!
As far as I know, there are no regulars from Ontario yet that post on the boards. Your the first, but please feel free to join in. I imagine more will be on the way. |

I. Deer, partridge, and occasionally rabbits and groundhogs for practice. I live in Ottawa, WMU 64B, and I noticed that the ministry has released a second deer seal here. Not suprising, the deer here are EVERYWHERE. I'm going to take the bow out soon and try my luck on some city buck.

I live and hunt 2 hours west of Ottawa in WMU 55b, I wish you would send some of those troublesome Ottawa deer our way.

Hi Bronx;
Have you tried http://www.huntontario.com?
It's a pretty good forum for Ontario hunters.

| How has everybody done so far in the pursuit of the elusive whitetail. My 2 sons and their friend just got their pal's and deer tags. I have been taking them out on a regular basis bow hunting. The only problem so far is that I have been the lucky one so far as far as filling their tags. We have four tags between us and so far I have got 3 at the abatoir's. @ with a bow and one last friday with my T/C BlackDiamond 50cal. I have told them I refuse to take out my Bow for the rest of the year but will place them in likely places and rattle and call for them. With only one buck tag left to fill and about a month to do it surely One of them will strike gold!! |

Any place for a Coloradian on this Ontario thread?
Good luck your with your last tag Scrimmy, I imagine your boys aren't real happy about Dad filling the other ones. Better back off that last tag or you might have mutiny on your hands! :wink:
Welcome! |

| We make room for everybody in Ontario Bitmasher. Welcome and your right about my boys being ticked with me. My answer to them (ages 21 and 20) is you can't shoot deer from the pub or your bedrooms, you have to be in the bush, don't stink and unlike your buddy Dan you have to be quiet!! |

| how's it going ahunter. where abouts in 55b do you live or hunt. I have relatives in pemboke and Golden lake, Mink Lake. My mother-in-law has a place on Mink Lake as well as Nepean and of course in London Ontario(my neck of the woods) My aunt has a 600 acre spread just outside Golden Lake that is just crawling with Whitetails. |

| Just stumbled upon this forum ! Live in NW Ontario (DRYDEN) on the "ranch" where in 2002 we were able to harvest wt deer (435lb) and a moose to round off this year's big game season. I returned upon semi-retirement to this area in 1999 and have seena steady increase in big game populations -- long time residents have told me that they have never seen the populations, particularly for moose as high as they are at present. I attribute much of this to the relatively mild winters we have experienced during the last few years -- looks like this year we're in for another one -- would like to see some more snow and cold for a while. |
